Stroll Through History, Discover Great Shops and Restaurants
City neighborhoods like the Third Ward usually get replaced piece by piece by real-estate developers. Somewhat magically, much of this area is pretty intact. The architecture includes converted factories, warehouses, and historic office buildings. It's home to probably the best concentration of restaurants, shops, and galleries in the city. A great place to explore on foot.
Because so many of the buildings in the Third Ward were built in the early 1900's the architecture is very consistent. It really gives you a feel of what turn of the century Milwaukee was like. |
